Rick Perry is in!

While he hasn't officially announced yet, his people have said that Rick Perry is officially a candidate for president.

Out of the current crop running, Perry is the most qualified for the job. There are a couple of things about Perry that I'm a little critical of, but nothing that outweighs his qualifications. There was the hesitant support of the Texas bill banning the tsa from improper touching. He should have been all over that hard and fast. In his younger days, he was a democrat, but, he was a conservative democrat and voted as often with the republicans as his own party. I'm sure that anyone can find things in the background of any politician that they consider negative, but we have to weigh those against the things we like.

I do wish that Perry were participating in the debate tonight (8:00 pm Central on Fox). I would like to see him side by side with Romney.

mexican executed in Texas...

Let me start this out by saying WAY TO GO GOV. PERRY!

Texas Governor, Rick Perry, refused to give in to pressure from obama or anyone else. He did the right thing for the people of Texas, especially the victim's family.

This illegal alien, humberto leal, brutally raped and killed a sixteen year old girl in 1995. And when I say brutally, that is exactly what I mean. Here is a description of the crime scene from court documents...
Adria Sauceda, 16, his victim, was found naked by authorities, according to court documents.

"There was a 30- to 40-pound asphalt rock roughly twice the size of the victim's skull lying partially on the victim's left arm," court documents read. "Blood was underneath this rock. A smaller rock with blood on it was located near the victim's right thigh.”

A "bloody and broken" stick roughly 15 inches long with a screw at the end of it was also protruding from the girl's vagina, according to the documents.
This guy was an animal and he deserved to die for this crime. Talking to a mexican authority after he was arrested shouldn't have had anything to do with the outcome of this case. The evidence and the brutality of this crime determined this thug's fate.

Even the supreme court of the United States was petitioned on behalf of this case. Their ruling was this...

In a 5-4 decision an hour before the execution, the majority wrote, “We have no authority to stay an execution in light of an 'appeal of the President,' presenting free-ranging assertions of foreign policy consequences, when those assertions come unaccompanied by a persuasive legal claim.”
Why the decision was 5 - 4 is beyond belief. You would think that even a liberal judge would be able to figure this out.

We are a soverign Nation. We have laws. When those laws are broken, especially to this degree, no treaty ever devised should be considered. What should be considered is the affect this crime has had on the family members of the innocent victim in this case.

Do you think other countries care about treaties or foreign policies when an American citizen brutally kills one of their citizens? I doubt it. Americans are locked up in mexico all the time without access to lawyers or American consulate people, for crimes much less heinous than this one.

I applaud Governor Perry for doing the right thing. He is a man of integrity, unlike obama, who has no class and no balls.

Perry Road-Tests A Stump Speech

Every new thing I learn about Rick Perry further solidifies my opinion of him. Of all the people running or thinking about running for President in 2012, he would be the best person for the job.

I would have a hard time voting for a congressman. Take a look at where that has gotten us. They don't tend to have the experience I think is necessary for the job of president. A governor is actually in charge of a budget, making a payroll, making executive decisions and a million other things that a congressman has never done.

I hope Perry gets in the race soon. He may not have the name recognition of some of the other potential candidates, so the sooner he can get in the longer he will have to show the Nation what a lot of us already know.

By Reid Wilson - National Journal

Republican activists have waited all week to see a front-running presidential candidate. When Texas Gov. Rick Perry took the stage Saturday, they may have finally gotten their glimpse.

In a 20-minute address to about 2,000 activists at the Republican Leadership Conference, Perry decried the Obama administration and even Republicans he blamed for "apologizing" while touting his own record with remarks that sounded conspicuously like a stump speech.

"This administration in Washington that's in power now clearly believes that government is not only the answer to every need, but it's the most qualified to make the most central decisions for every American in every area," Perry said. He called Obama's approach to the economy "an affront to every freedom-loving American and a threat to every private sector job in this country."

"I stand before you today as a disciplined, conservative Texan, a committed Republican and a proud American, united with you in the desire to restore our nation and revive the American dream," he said.

Though he has adamantly denied an interest in running for president for years, Perry's attitude has changed in recent weeks. He has reportedly dispatched aides to Iowa to feel out the political situation in the home of the crucial first caucus. Now, his biggest supporters believe he is likely to enter the presidential race.

"I do think he'll get in. And it won't be because he wants to, it'll be because he thinks he needs to," said Bill Crocker, RNC national committeeman from Texas. Crocker introduced Perry to members of the Republican National Committee at a luncheon in Dallas last month.

Perry won a difficult Republican primary against Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in 2010 by contrasting his support for state's rights with his opponent's day job in Washington. His signature pitch to conservative activists is an appeal to the 10th Amendment guarantees of states rights, something that brought an expectant crowd to its feet Saturday. In doing so, he sure sounds like a candidate looking forward to a run for higher office.

"Our goal is to displace the entrenched powers in Washington, restore the rightful balance between the state and federal government," Perry said.

Will Rick Perry enter the Presidential race?

There have been rumors lately about Gov. Rick Perry entering the race for President.

Last night reader JBaugh asked me what I thought of Perry and his possible run.

Well, there are some undeniable facts. Rick Perry presides over one of the largest economies in the world. At $1.1 trillion dollars in GDP the Texas economy is larger than all but 13 COUNTRIES. Even the country of mexico has a smaller GDP than Texas.

Rick Perry has been Governor of Texas since December 21st, 2000, giving him 11 years of executive level leadership. Prior to that he was Lt. Governor. He has also been the Commissioner of Agriculture and member of the Texas House of Representatives.

He is a Veteran, having served in the United States Air Force as a C130 pilot.

He is a Conservative. He appears to have strong values and principles.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the Republican Governor's Association.

If you add all of these things together, Rick Perry is far more qualified than any other current Republican candidate. He has proven and measurable experience.

If he runs, I'll vote for him. For as much as I like Herman Cain, the qualifications of Rick Perry are unquestionable and make him the best candidate from the current crop.

Romney announces his run for president...

Come November 2012, I have to vote, it is my responsibility as an American. There is no way in HELL I would vote for obama, none, zip, nada, no way. That being said, I'll vote for the Republican nominee, but I may do it under protest.

I'm not a Romney fan, never have been. It's not that he is a bad guy, and I'm sure he would make a decent president, but I have concerns. He does tend to change his opinion based on the political winds. He isn't a true conservative. And he seems a little too uptight, with the suit all the time. Although he does seem to be trying to lighten that image a little. The more I hear about his RomneyCare, it sounds like a miniature version of obamacare. While it did cost his State less than anticipated, it's still socialized medicine.

I've heard it said lots of times that people want to vote for someone they could picture themselves having a beer with, Romney isn't that guy. He seems more like the big shot that owns the bar and kicks you out for getting too rowdy.

Herman Cain is a guy I could drink a beer with. So is Gov. Rick Perry.

I can't think of a single democrat I would want to share a beer with. About half way through they would piss me off with some stupid crack and the fight would be on.

Anyway, I hope to vote for someone I truly want to see as president instead of just some guy lucky enough to be the nominee. I would like to see a business person or a governor. They seem to have the experience needed to lead something. Senators and representatives  are out in my opinion. They don't have the knowledge level I would like to see. If you think differently, look at obama, and look at where his "leadership" has taken us. We sure as hell don't need more of that. We need a true leader, someone that loves this Country more than life itself...
