obama: ‘We Don’t Need a Balanced Budget Amendment’

I don't know why obama would be opposed to a balanced budget amendment. It's not really going to affect him anyway. He has no regard for the Constitution and has violated most of the existing Amendments anyway, so why would another one matter?

This line absolutely pisses me off. The Constitution DOES tell them how to do their job, well, exactly when do these assclowns in our government plan on doing their job?

Does obama TRULY think that what he is doing is in the best interests of this Country? There is no possible way he can think that. An ever expanding government and a never ending spending habit are NOT what our Founding Fathers had in mind, not even close. There hasn't been on "responsible" choice made by this administration, and I doubt that they change that any time soon...

President barack obama says America does not need a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, and he once again blamed much of the fiscal problem on Bush-era tax cuts.

“We don’t need a constitutional amendment to do our jobs,” obama told reporters at his Friday news conference. “The Constitution already tells us to do our jobs -- and to make sure that the government is living within its means and making responsible choices.”

The House will consider a balanced budget amendment next week. It is an idea supported by both conservatives (including Sen. Jim DeMint of S.C.) and liberal Republicans (including Sen olympia snowe of Maine). In fact, every Republican in the U.S. Senate now supports a balanced budget amendment as a way of offseting a $2 trillion increase in the debt ceiling.

The public overwhelmingly supports a balanced budget amendment by 72 percent, while just 20 percent oppose it, according to a Fox News poll.

To legally borrow more money, Congress and the president must authorize an increase in the debt ceiling. The national debt is $14.4 trillion. Under the constitutional amendment, a deficit would have to be erased by spending cuts.

“We don’t need a balanced budget amendment,” obama said on Friday. “We simply need to make these tough choices and be willing to take on our bases. And everybody knows it. I mean, we could have a discussion right here about what the numbers look like, and we know what’s necessary.” obama and his fellow Democrats insist that a tax hike on the wealthy is necessary.

When president obama started talking at his news conference Monday, I listened intently for 15 minutes or so. Then I got fidgety as his half-truths about the debt grew into full-blown whoppers. As he droned on, I did something I never did before during an obama appearance: I turned off the TV.

Enough. He is the Man Who Won't Listen to Anybody, so why should anybody listen to him?

Tuning out and turning off the president does not fill me with gladness. He cannot be ignored.

But for now, I will leave that unhappy duty to others. I am tired of barack obama. There's nothing new there. His speeches are like "Groundhog Day."

His presidency is a spectacular failure, his historic mandate squandered by adherence to leftist ideology and relentless partisanship. His policies are crushing the prospects for growth and dooming the hopes of 24 million Americans who are unemployed or working part-time.

Yet he is not going to change. He listens only to his own voice, which is why he has lost virtually his entire economic team.

The biggest media myth is that he is a centrist. Oh, please. It's a theory without evidence, for there is not a single example on domestic issues where he voluntarily staked out a spot in the American middle.

Sure, on occasion, obama will be to the right of the far, far left, but that is not the center. That just means he's not michael moore.

Nor is he a centrist because he'll make a deal under duress with Republicans, as he did last December. All politicians have a pragmatic streak, otherwise they couldn't get anything done in a divided government.

But obama's default statist position remains unmolested by facts or last year's landslide that was a rebuke to his first two years. He continues to push bigger and bigger government, higher and higher taxes and more and more welfare programs.

He will compromise if he must, but he still wants what he wants and will come back for it again and again.

That's the subtext of the debt-ceiling talks and his press conference. He voted against raising the ceiling as a senator, calling the need for an increase a "failure."

Now he is not embarrassed to demand a hike of about $2.5 trillion, and more hair of the spending-and-taxing dog. He reveals his belief that your money is really the government's and it will decide how much you can keep. The only cut he is comfortable with is in the defense budget.

He says it's time to "pull off the Band-Aid" and "eat our peas." Translation: It's time for Republicans to give him everything he wants. That's his definition of being an adult and acting in the national interest.

His only concession to public will is to pretend he's got religion about the fiscal problems and wants a "big deal." What he really wants is to get through the election.

In answering a question about a poll showing that two-thirds of voters don't want the debt ceiling raised, he blew off 70 million Americans by saying they aren't paying attention.

There's a novel campaign theme: Elect me because you're too dumb to understand how smart I am.

Harry Truman ran against a "Do-Nothing" Congress. obama is running against a "Know-Nothing" nation.

He can never be wrong. You always are, unless you agree with him.

That's the story of his presidency. That's who he is.

Obama says he cannot guarantee Social Security checks will go out on August 3

These types of scare tactics are just stupid. It shows exactly what obama and his gang of thugs are made of. Let's just scare the shit out of people so we can force more bad decisions on them. It's pretty much the standard operating procedure. Sadly, it has worked several times already.

But this highlights another item of contention, if the government hadn't been robbing the social security lock box for decades, this wouldn't be an issue.

It doesn't matter if the debt ceiling is raised or not, people eligible for social security will get their checks.

It is very scary sounding though. It's sure to get attention. But when will people wise up and see this lying thug for what he really is?

President Obama on Tuesday said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3 if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.

"I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven't resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it," Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.

The Obama administration and many economists have warned of economic catastrophe if the United States does not raise the amount it is legally allowed to borrow by August 2.

Lawmakers from both parties want to use the threat of that deadline to work out a broader package on long-term deficit reduction, with Republicans looking to cut trillions of dollars in federal spending, while Democrats are pushing for a more "balanced approach," which would include both spending cuts and increased revenue through taxes.

unemployment continues to rise...

9.1%. The number is complete bullshit, it's probably closer to 12% and maybe even 15%. And 9.1% would be bad enough.

And while the number of people losing their jobs continues to climb, obama continues to try and blow smoke up our ass. How can anyone in this Country believe a word this guy has to say? A single word? He sits around glad handing people in Ohio, painting a rosy picture of the job outlook and the economy while the world crumbles around us.

He is either the most clueless person in this Country or the most evil.

I go back and forth on that. At times it seems as though he has put together the perfect plan to drive our Great Nation into ruin. And other times he appears to be the most incompetent politician in the history of our Country. And that's saying alot, because there have been some dumbass politicians. But never do I believe he is truthful or cares about this Country.

One of these days, in the not so distant future, after we have begun to recover from the damage this socialist scumbag has caused, we will think of him like we do jimmy carter, as a joke. His inability, or unwillingness, to do anything positive for this Country is etching his legacy in stone.

This is what happens when 52% of the population votes for an unqualified, inexperienced candidate with the ability to read a teleprompter simply because they feel guilty for being white. Our Country is a very complex machine. To run it requires a set of skills obama will NEVER possess...

House votes against raising the debt ceiling...

Yesterday the house voted against raising the debt ceiling. Even many democrats showed up in the NAY column. The final tally was 318 against and 97 in favor.

Now the negotiations begin. What kind of deal can the Republicans get in order to vote again and raise the debt ceiling. But here is my thought, why negotiate at all. Refusing to raise the debt ceiling comes with built in spending cuts. There is no way we can allow our government to default on our debt. Without raising the debt ceiling, spendings cuts, big ones, would be the best way to keep from defaulting.

Besides, making a deal with obama is a no win situation. Even if you get a decent deal he doesn't honor it. He has proven that in the past. He is a liar and you can't make a deal with a liar...

New dnc head debbie wasserman schultz telling lies already...

Recently during a speech, the new head of the dnc, debbie wasserman schultz, said the the Republican party is anti-women.

This was about the same time that some msnbc jackass that I have never heard of called Laura Ingraham a slut on his radio show. Wait, what? I thought it was the Republicans that were anti-women.

It must have been Republicans that unleashed vile verbal assults against Sarah Palin. Nope, that was democrats.

Maybe the Republicans were the ones bad mouthing Michele Bachmann. Well, actually that was democrats too.

How about the attacks against Carly Fiorino and Meg Whitman in california? Umm, that's gonna be the democrats again.

Surely it must be Republicans that are constantly calling Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter horrible names. That one is democrats too.

Do you get my point on this? democrats have nothing. The economy is in shambles. obama is an idiot on foreign policy and everything else. Gas prices are through the roof. Actual unemployment is still over 10%. obamacare is even more unpopular now than when it was forced on us. The democrats can't run on anything of substance, so they make stuff up. They do what democrats do best, lie.

Before you believe anything that comes out of the mouth of a democrat, consider the current state of our Country. Also consider your current condition. Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago? I know I'm not. I'm spending more than twice as much on gas as I was then. I have fewer freedoms than I did then.

wasserman schultz is another professional democrat politician. She will carry on in the typical democrat fashion, bending and breaking the truth and the rules to gain voters that will only wind up diasappointed...

Senate Dems Lose Vote on Repeal of Tax Breaks for Oil Companies Amid Pain at Pump

Why do democrats keep calling these tax breaks subsidies? Why do they keep neglecting to mention that many other industries in this Country get the same tax breaks? Why do they fail to inform us that they are picking on FIVE oil companies? They aren't demanding that these tax breaks be taken away from ALL oil companies, just the five that they don't like. Why don't they admit that if these tax breaks are taken away the price of gasoline will rise in accordance?

These big five oil companies pay about 40% in taxes, even with the tax breaks they get, billions of dollars. But all the democrats see is the dollar figures, never mind that there are lots of companies that make a bigger profit percentage, just not the dollar amount. The democrats also refuse to mention that out of those profits the oil companies pay for research and development and exploration. It's not like they drill a hole in the ground and oil pops out. They spend huge amounts of money figuring out exactly where the oil is.

And lets also keep in mind that the oil industry employs thousands and thousands of people. Every time obama and his gang of thugs make it harder for oil companies to drill, Americans lose their jobs. The oil industry sufffers every day along the Gulf Coast because obama refuses to allow them to drill.

obama recently said he is going to increase drilling in the Gulf, off of Alaska, and off of California. It's bullshit. It is an election stunt. He has no intention of EVER allowing our Country to become energy independent. Don't fall for it people...

As expected, Senate Democrats lost a key test vote Tuesday on a bill that would have repealed $20 billion worth of tax subsidies for the nation's five largest oil companies, falling 8 votes short of a win.

The 52-48 vote came as a majority of Americans say in a new Gallup poll that high gas prices are hurting their finances.

Nearly seven in 10 Americans said high gas prices are causing financial hardship for their families. More than half said to compensate, they have made major changes, ranging from shorter trips to cutting back on vacation travel. More than a 1,000 people responded to the poll that has a 4 percent margin of error.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.94, according to AAA, and Democrats were looking to exploit that high price with Tuesday's vote.

Last week, Democrats grilled oil executives on the tax breaks that they say are not needed and President Obama announced Saturday he was directing his administration to ramp up U.S. oil production by extending leases in the Gulf of Mexico and off Alaska's coast.

Democrats have been touting a new report by the Joint Economic Committee found that eliminating the tax breaks would reduce the deficit by $21 billion over 10 years and encourage alternative energy and energy efficiency.

"This new JEC report makes clear that there are ways to bring down the deficit without harming our economic recovery," said Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., chairman of the committee. "By repealing unnecessary tax breaks to the major integrated oil companies, we can reduce the deficit by more than $20 billion and speed the move to a clean energy economy without impacting prices at the pump."

But Republicans opposed the bill, saying it won't relieve pain at the pump, a conclusion also reached by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who said on the Senate floor Tuesday that "it won't affect gas prices at all."

Reid then went on to say the opposite.

"We have to do something about the exorbitant gas prices, and the best way to start with that is to do something about the five big oil companies getting subsidies they don't need," he said.

Budget Panel: obama Deficit Plan Saves Less Than Advertised

If anyone actually believes that this "obama" plan will do anything positive for this County they should think about obamacare. Just like obamacare, you can bet there is a bunch of hidden shit that will wind up costing us billions and cut into the savings. It will probably require hiring thouands of new government employees to implement and somehow it will give huge amounts of money to unions and other of obama's cronies.

Never trust this man, ever. He is a liar. He lies when it is easier to tell the truth. It is a compulsion.

And don't forget there is always an agenda. His desire to turn us into a third world country out weighs any sense of sanity. He is a liar and should not be trusted...

A leading panel of budget experts estimated Thursday that President obama's latest spending plan does not save as much money as the White House initially claimed and is about $1.5 trillion more expensive than the Republican plan.

Since he delivered a major fiscal policy address last week, obama and other officials have touted that the White House plan would cut $4 trillion over 12 years. Using that figure, they've claimed it's very similar to a House Republican plan which supposedly would cut $4.4 trillion over 10 years.

But given that most budget outlines use a 10-year window, as required by law, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget tried to offer an apples-to-apples comparison -- and determined obama's proposal would actually cut deficits by $2.5 trillion over the next decade. It credited the president for "moving the ball forward," but said that based on Congressional Budget Office assumptions, the plan doesn't do enough to tackle the debt crisis.

"It appears unlikely that the policies proposed in the president's framework would be sufficient to reduce debt to a manageable level," they wrote.

In response, the White House claimed that using the 10-year window, the president's budget plan would cut $2.9 trillion, not $2.5 trillion. And officials continued to stand by the claim that it cuts $4 trillion over 12 years. A White House aide suggested the president's plan would save more than the committee claims in part because of a "failsafe" provision that would trigger additional spending cuts if debt reduction goals are not met.
