We had one hell of a storm blow through here last night. Winds had to be in excess of 60 mph. We lost power at about 1:30 am and didn't have it back until about 2:00 pm this afternoon.
We couldn't sleep through the storm, which is unusual for me. It was that bad. Something that added to that though, when the power went out all of our hard wired smoke detectors started beeping. I was able to yank all but one of them down. The other one is 20 feet off of the ground. I didn't think it would be a good idea to go out to the shed and get my aluminum extension ladder in a lightning storm.
When we woke up this morning, we discovered we had lost a huge tree. Some of it fell on the fence. I started cutting branches off of it about 7:00 am. Joe Texan showed up about 9:00 to work on his truck but wound up helping me cut up the tree for most of the day.
It's raining again now. We had a little hail earlier. Nothing big, about pea sized. I'm hoping we don't lose power again. I just hung all those damn smoke detectors back up, with new batteries...
