Republicans are more interested in ensuring that people only vote once and that they are legally entitled to vote. There are so many things in this life that you are required to show ID for, buying beer, getting into a rated R movie, using a credit card, getting a job, and the list goes on and on. Why isn't it required to show an ID for one of the most important civic responsibilities we have, voting?"[I]f you go back to the year 2000, when we had an obvious disaster and - and saw that our voting process needed refinement, and we did that in the America Votes Act and made sure that we could iron out those kinks, now you have the Republicans, who want to literally drag us all the way back to Jim Crow laws and literally - and very transparently - block access to the polls to voters who are more likely to vote Democratic candidates than Republican candidates. And it's nothing short of that blatant,"
About every State that wants to require ID is willing to provide something other than a drivers license at no charge to those that need it.
Most rational people think like I do on the subject. I don't care how a person votes, democrat, Republican, Independent, Libertarian, just vote. It is our responsibility as productive members of society to vote. Just do it once and be legally able to do it. Simple.
